Woven in Narayanapet in the present day Telangana, these sarees also have a Maharastrian influence owing to the Chatrapathi’s patronage of yore. Traditionally, these sarees are known for their checkered patterns and the characteristic sawtooth borders woven in red and white. However, modern day influences have also seen other motifs being incorporated into the borders as well.
