Narayanapet Cottons

Eponymous to the Narayanapet district of Telangana, these sarees are typically identifiable by their distinctive sawtooth and alternating colour banded borders. Weaving in Narayanpet, whether in cottons or silks shows a strong influence of the Maratha rulers that it used to be reigned by many years ago. Border motifs, colour palette as well as pallu patterns are reminiscent of other weaves from north Karnataka and Maharashtra- a call out to their common history. Cottons are great for work wear and are very elegant and earthy.
