Hailing from Venkatagiri in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh, these GI protected sarees were initially woven for and worn by the royals of the dynasties ruling the local regions and the Zamindar ladies.
They are known for their fine weaves and come in variations of plain as well as woven peacock, parrot, swan or mango butis on the body of the saree.
They are soft, lightweight and durable and preferred for daily or easy occasion wear in the summers.
