Patteda Anchu


An age old weaving tradition that has been brought into the mainstream by the efforts of several revivalists. Anchu, refers to the border and Pattedu is the 'amount that fits in your grasp'. This is a description of the characteristic striped borders that are usually 5 or so inches in width. Pattedanchu sarees can either be plain or chequered, and have understated striped Pallus.
